FSiix Resources sources and trades spodumene lithium concentrate from Tanzania's Kagera Belt pegmatite fields — hard-rock deposits formed by late-stage Pan-African granitic magmatism roughly 500–560 million years ago. Beneficiated through crushing, dense-media separation, and reverse flotation, our concentrate is graded across the SC4 to SC6 spectrum (4–6% Li₂O) and supplied with full assay certification to lithium chemical converters, EV battery cathode manufacturers, and glass and ceramics producers seeking non-Australian, ESG-traceable African supply.
Lithium concentrate — specifically spodumene concentrate — is a beneficiated, high-Li₂O material produced by separating the mineral spodumene (LiAlSi₂O₆) from its surrounding pegmatite gangue through crushing, dense-media separation, and flotation. Spodumene is the dominant commercial lithium ore mineral in hard-rock operations, and the concentrate it yields is the essential upstream feedstock for the global battery-grade lithium chemical industry.
The defining quality parameter is Li₂O grade, which sets the lithium chemical yield achievable by downstream converters. SC6 (6% Li₂O) is the international benchmark for direct conversion to lithium hydroxide or lithium carbonate; SC4 serves technical markets. FSiix's Tanzanian operations target SC5 to SC6 grade at 5–6% Li₂O, meeting battery-supply-chain quality thresholds.
FSiix's Tanzanian beneficiation circuit runs a staged crushing, dense-media separation, and flotation route to lift run-of-mine ore to battery-grade spodumene concentrate.
Run-of-mine pegmatite ore is primary jaw-crushed to below 150mm, then secondary cone-crushed to below 25mm, with screening at 6mm and 2mm producing coarse and fine fractions for parallel dense-media separation circuits. Spodumene's relative brittleness allows controlled liberation without excessive fines loss.
Spodumene's specific gravity (3.1–3.2 g/cm³) versus the quartz-feldspar gangue (2.6–2.65 g/cm³) allows effective separation in ferrosilicon suspension at a cut density of roughly 2.85–2.90 g/cm³, lifting Li₂O from 1–1.5% run-of-mine feed to 3.5–5% pre-concentrate in a single pass.
Pre-concentrate is ground finer for reverse flotation, where amine collectors remove iron-bearing minerals and a second stage removes residual feldspar, lifting Li₂O to the 5.5–6.0% SC6 target while reducing Fe₂O₃ to ≤1.0%. Final concentrate is thickened and filtered to ≤8% moisture, assayed by XRF, and certified before export.
FSiix's spodumene concentrate feeds three distinct downstream value chains — battery chemical conversion, industrial glass and ceramics, and specialty lubricants — from the same ore mineral, graded to each buyer's requirement.
Tanzania's Kagera Belt pegmatites deliver spodumene with low iron contamination and minimal quartz inclusions, supporting SC6 Li₂O grade at acceptable Fe₂O₃ penalties for premium converter pricing.
With Australia supplying over half the world's spodumene, buyers building non-Australian, ESG-traceable African supply into their battery chains find FSiix's Tanzanian concentrate a strategic complement.
Every parcel carries independent multi-element XRF assay certification and full provenance documentation, supporting battery manufacturers' ESG reporting and critical-mineral compliance requirements.
Global lithium demand is projected to grow at a 20–30% CAGR through 2030, driven overwhelmingly by EV battery production and grid-scale energy storage deployment, with global lithium carbonate equivalent demand forecast to more than triple from under 500,000 tonnes in 2022 toward 1.5–2.0 million tonnes by 2030.
Spodumene concentrate pricing moves with benchmark and spot lithium chemical references, and varies meaningfully between SC4 technical grade and SC6 battery grade, so we don't publish a static reference price here — anything printed on a page would likely be stale within days.
