FSiix Resources sources and trades fuel-grade Green Petroleum Coke (petcoke), the high-carbon, high-calorific-value solid fuel produced as a by-product of the delayed coking of vacuum residue. With fixed carbon typically above 85%, low ash, and a calorific value well above conventional thermal coal, our green petcoke is refinery-direct and quality-certified for sulphur, ash, and volatile matter, and is supplied in bulk by rail, truck, or ocean vessel for cement kilns and power generation worldwide.
Green petcoke is produced at the bottom of the refinery barrel: vacuum residue is thermally cracked in a delayed coker, and the volatile hydrocarbons are flashed off into gas oils and lighter products while the remaining carbon polymerises into solid petroleum coke. "Green" refers to the coke's unprocessed, uncalcined state as it leaves the coker drum — it is not treated with any bleaching or chemical process. Depending on coking conditions, the product forms as sponge coke (porous, lower sulphur) or shot coke (dense, higher sulphur), both traded as fuel-grade material.
FSiix trades green petcoke across the sulphur bands most in demand from cement and power generation buyers — from mid-sulphur (around 3%) to high-sulphur (up to 6.5%) fuel grade — with every parcel certified for fixed carbon, sulphur, ash, volatile matter, and calorific value before dispatch.
FSiix's petcoke supply runs under continuous refinery quality control, from delayed coking through certified, export-ready bulk cargo.
The heaviest fraction from vacuum distillation is charged into coke drums and heated to 480–515°C under moderate pressure, cracking the residue into lighter gas oils and a solid carbon coke deposit — the delayed coking process.
Green coke is hydraulically cut from the coke drums, dewatered, and screened to standard trade sizing, separating oversize lumps from the fine material buyers specify for kiln or boiler feed.
Every batch is tested against ASTM D3172, D4294, D3174, and D5865 before release, then loaded into rail wagons, trucks, or bulk carrier holds for onward shipment.
FSiix's fuel-grade green petcoke serves cement manufacturers, power utilities, and industrial processors worldwide — anywhere a high-carbon, high-calorific-value solid fuel is specified.
Batch testing against ASTM D4294, D3172, and D3174 confirms sulphur, fixed carbon, and ash on every shipment, so buyers get the fuel value and combustion behaviour they specify.
Sourcing straight from refinery delayed coking units, without intermediary re-handling, preserves the calorific value and low moisture that make green petcoke a cost-efficient substitute for coal.
Rail, truck, and Handysize-to-Panamax vessel loading options let cement plants and power stations receive petcoke at whatever volume and delivery point suits their operation.
Global fuel-grade petcoke demand is driven largely by cement manufacturing and power generation, where its higher calorific value per tonne versus thermal coal offsets the cost and handling considerations of its higher sulphur content, with pricing set at a discount to coal on an energy-equivalent basis.
Green petcoke pricing tracks Argus and Platts petcoke FOB references, moves with refinery output, sulphur band, and freight rates, and varies by origin and delivery term, so we don't publish a static reference price here — anything printed on a page would likely be stale within days.
